"SIM Communication Error Simulator Not Connected",
"Communication error Check I/F driver"

This error is displayed at the top left corner on the V/TS series when simulator communication is not established correctly between the V/TS series and the PC.

V7 series: "Communication error Check I/F driver"

 

[Communication with a PLC]

The communication setting is configured not with a PLC but with the simulator.

<Solutions>

V8/TS series
Method 1

  1. Display the Main Menu screen, select [Main Menu] and [Simulator] on the V8/TS, and press [Real machine].


  2. Press [Setting Finished] to move back to the Main Menu screen.

  3. Press the function switch [SYSTEM] → [F1] or [Main Menu] → [RUN] to display the RUN screen.

 

Method 2

  1. Select [Transfer] → [Download] on the V-SFT-6 editor and uncheck [Use Simulator].


  2. Transfer the screen data again.

 

V7 series

  1. Select [File] → [Transfer] dialog on the V-SFT-5 editor and uncheck [Use Simulator].

  2. Transfer the screen data again.

 

 

[Communication with the simulator]

The simulator is not running properly or the PC and the V/TS series are not connected correctly.

 

<Solution>

V8/TS series

  1. Display the Main Menu screen, select [Main Menu] and [Simulator] on the V8/TS series, and press [Simulation].

    When connecting a PC with the V8/TS series via Ethernet, the IP address of the PC must be specified for [Device Connection Setting].

  2. Press [Setting Finished] to move back to the Main Menu screen.

  3. Press the function switch [SYSTEM] → [F1] or [Main Menu] → [RUN] to display the RUN screen.

  4. Click the [Transfer] → [Simulate] on the V-SFT-6 editor.


  5. The simulator will start.
    Communication with the MONITOUCH will start at the same time.
    Addresses related to the screen data currently open on the editor will be displayed on the simulator automatically.
    During communication the screen shows as below.


V7 series

  1. Press the function switch [SYSTEM] → [F1] to display the RUN screen.

  2. Click the [SIM] icon or click [View] → [View] → [Simulate] on the V-SFT-5 editor.


  3. The simulator will start.
    Communication with the MONITOUCH will start at the same time.
    Addresses related to the screen data currently open on the editor will be displayed on the simulator automatically.
    During communication the screen shows as below.

When communication is not possible: Configure settings for communication between the PC and the V/TS series from the [File] menu.
