Create a shortcut and register it as a startup option.

Procedure

Creating a shortcut

1. Start TELLUS. Select [HMI] and click [OK].
   
   
   
2. Select a screen program in the following dialog box.
   Select the [Create Shortcut] checkbox, click [Open], and proceed to step 4.
   (If creating a shortcut after connecting to the PLC and starting TELLUS, leave the [Create Shortcut] checkbox unselected and proceed to step 3.)
   
   
   
3. TELLUS starts up. Click [File] → [Create Shortcut].
   
   * If an error occurs, such as a communication error, that prevents TELLUS from starting, resolve the error.
   
   
4. The following dialog box appears.
   If the conditions (screen size, menu display, etc.) at TELLUS startup are fine as they are now, click [No]. If you want to make changes, click [Yes].
   
   
   ↓ When [Yes] is selected
   
   
   
   
5. A shortcut is created.
   Location: Desktop
   Name: Same name as the screen program
   
   
   Appearance on desktop
   

Registering as a startup option

1. Start Windows Explorer.
2. Open the [Startup] folder and copy the created TELLUS shortcut to the folder.

This completes the necessary settings. TELLUS will now start together with the computer.

<Adding a time delay to TELLUS startup>

When turning on the computer, if TELLUS does not start up properly due to starting before the computer environment is ready, a delay time can be added to TELLUS startup.

◆ TELLUS Ver. 4.0.9.0 and later

1. Right-click on the shortcut located in the [Startup] folder and click [Properties].
2. Specify the delay time at the end of the link target.
   
   Setting method: /T(one-byte space)time        * Time unit: seconds
   
   Example) Adding a 10 second delay when starting up TELLUS
   
   
   This completes the configuration of settings.

◆ TELLUS Ver. 4.0.8.0 and earlier
A delay time can be added using Windows Task Scheduler.
In this case, a shortcut does not need to be copied to the [Startup] folder.

1. Start Windows Task Scheduler and click [Create Task].
   
   
   
2. Enter a name on the [General] tab window and register an execution timing on the [Triggers] tab window.
   Example: Set a 5 minute delay after the computer starts up.
   
   
   
3. Select the program to execute on the [Actions] tab.
   Set [Start a program] for [Action] and set the link to the created shortcut to both the [Program/script] and [Add arguments (optional)] fields.
   
   
   * The setting can be checked in the [Properties] window displayed by right-clicking
      on the shortcut.

   - Add arguments (optional): -Disp B:/TELLUS/Tellus_demo.V9 /A

This completes the configuration of settings.
