<Causes>
- There is no entry mode icon (no cursor is displayed).
- The keypad ID number is different from the entry mode ID number (all keys in the keypad are invalid).
- There is no entry target (no cursor is displayed).
- The "Enter key control" bit is OFF (the ENT key is not valid).
- The [Input Cursor Movement Control Device] is OFF (no cursor is displayed).
- A value out of range is input (the ENT key is not valid).
<Solutions>
- Check if the entry mode icon is located on the same screen (base screen or overlap) as the keypad.
Check the entry mode icon by following way.

- (1) Select [Parts] → [Parts List], and select [Entry 2D] and [InputIcon].
- (2) Drag the entry mode icon onto the screen.

Display the ID number and check that the entry mode icon and the keypad have the same ID number.
- Select [View] → [Display Environment] → [Display] tab, and check [Display ID Number].
or - Display the right-click menu → [Customize], and check [Display ID Number].
If the ID number is not consistent, set the same number as described below.
- Method 1
- (1) Select the keypad and the entry mode icon, and right-click the mouse.
- (2) Click [Link] from the menu. The same ID number is set and linked.
- Method 2
- (1) Select the keypad and the entry mode icon, and right-click the mouse.
- (2) Click [Batch Change] from the menu.
- (3) Display the [Batch Change] dialog, select [Detail] → [ID], set the entry mode icon number and click [OK].
- Select [View] → [Display Environment] → [Display] tab, and check [Display ID Number].
- Set the function of the numerical data display or character display part to be input through the keypad as [Entry Target].

- When [Enable/disable the entry key] is checked in the [Entry] dialog, turn ON bit 15 of control device memory.
To make the keypad available for entry at all times, uncheck the box and transfer data again.

- When the [Input Cursor Movement Control Device] is set, check if the order number bit of the entry target (numerical data display/character display) is ON.
* The [Input Cursor Movement Control Device] indicates the device memory
that controls whether to move the cursor to respective entry targets.

For V8 series, click here. - In the case of numerical data display parts, display the [Num. Display] dialog, select [Operation/Alarm] and check if [Alarm] is checked. If checked, input the value in the range between the maximum value and the minimum value specified.
