How to switch between languages without a storage device
Three methods are available. Follow the steps below.
[Method 1: Store fonts in MONITOUCH] (TS/V8 only)
The TS/V8 is capable of storing multiple fonts in it.
Example: When switching between Japanese and Chinese (Simplified)
- Select [System Setting] → [Font Setting] → [Font], and configure as below.
- Switching languages: 2
- Language 1: Japanese 32
Language 2: Chinese (Simplified) - Check [Chinese (Simplified)] for [Transfer Font Setting].
(Language 1 (Japanese 32) will be transferred automatically.)
After checking the box, click [Calculate Memory] and check the value of [Screen Memory (Available)].
Fonts are large in capacity so the memory capacity available for screen data will be reduced. Check the availability of memory space. - Click [OK].
- Register text for Language 1 and Language 2 of each part.
[Method 2: Use Windows fonts] (TS/V8/V7 series only)
Store one kind of font in MONITOUCH, and use Windows fonts for parts on the screen.
Example: When switching between Japanese and Chinese (Simplified)
- Select [System Setting] → [Font Setting] → [Font], and configure as below.
- Switching languages: 2
- Select the same fonts for Language 1 and Language 2.
Language 1: Japanese 32
Language 2: Japanese 32
- Check [Windows Font] for Language 1 and Language 2 of each part and register text.
A Windows font can be set to all parts already placed on the screen at one time by selecting [Tool] → [Change All Windows Fonts].
Example: Windows font NSimSun
- Windows fonts are large in capacity so the memory capacity available for screen data will be reduced. Check the availability of memory space. - Windows fonts are not available with the following functions. Data sheet (except expanded data sheet), sample print, memory card mode, recipe |
[Method 3: Switch displayed characters]
Store one kind of font in MONITOUCH, and switch the characters displayed on the screen.
Example: To switch between Japanese and English
- Select [System Setting] → [Font Setting] → [Font], and configure as below.
- Switching languages: 2
- Select the same fonts for Language 1 and Language 2.
Language 1: Japanese 32
Language 2: Japanese 32 - Register Japanese for Language 1 and English for Language 2 of each part.
For any language that cannot be displayed using the selected font (example: Chinese), use Windows fonts.
